MEDICAL BRIGADES

IMG-1510.JPG

Our medical team is supported by doctors, nurse practitioners, nurses and lay people who work in the medical clinic. We also have 4-6 Haitian nurses that have been working for us for years, as well as 23 extra translators. The Clinic opens at 9am (people start lining up as early as 5am), some people walk hours to see our medical staff.

We treat anyone who comes to the clinic for free and try to give them the medicine that they need. The stories that we hear are heart wrenching and our nurses many times come to the dinner table crying! Our also give food and some clothing to all who come. The most common complaint is hunger while waiting, this is why this year we are providing refreshments, we will prepare about 200 peanut butter sandwiches each night to be given out to the small kids that are waiting to be seen in the clinic.
