Last week, we mailed 90 letters to Faith Formation offices across Long Island hoping to generate more peanut butter drives.
LENT HAS ARRIVED. CAN YOU FEED MY KIDS?
Jesus in the Bible talks about feeding His flock. He talks about sharing what we have. In Haiti I do mission work at Our Lady of Fatima School. I am the principal. God was clear to me, he said “Feed my kids.” I tried to ignore him so he wouldn’t let me sleep for 3 days! So, we started a peanut butter drive. Every morning starting at 5 am we make 750 peanut butter sandwiches. I try and ship the peanut butter from here so I don’t have to buy it in Haiti. But when we run out we buy it. After all happiness is only a credit card swipe away- right??
Last week without even asking me the Faith Formation team lead by Tina Rine at Maria Regina collected Peanut Butter. On Saturday 2 station wagons came to my house with 405 jars of peanut butter! I was beyond excited. Every day we use 50 jars of peanut butter or 250 per week or 1,000 per month. That’s a lot of peanut butter! We also give the kids some juice to wash it down.
LENT IS 40 DAYS! CAN YOU HELP ME FEED HIS KIDS? It doesn’t have to be 405. It could be 25. WHATEVER YOU COLLECT WOULD BE PEFECT! And you don’t have to deliver. We can pick up and then we will ship to Haiti. If you want to call Maria Regina to see how Tina worded the letter, she said she would help you. Contact Tina at Maria Regina- FAITH FORMATION. Please I need your help! My kids need your help!
Thank you and Blessed Lent,
Charlie Moran
